This roundtable is delivered by qLegal, an entrepreneurship law clinic at Queen Mary University of London Legal Advice Centre.

The provision of commercial law clinics within law schools has grown substantially over the past number of years and there has been increased academic research relating to entrepreneurship and commercial law clinics. Increasingly more UK law schools are now looking to develop commercial-related clinic activity. At this roundtable we will discuss commercial clinical legal education in the UK and Europe including:

  • Current models of commercial law clinics
  • Best practice in developing commercial law clinics and commercial law related opportunities for students
  • The methods of assessing students in a commercial law clinic context
  • Skills students develop when advising clients on commercial matters; and
  • Commercial law clinics and legal and non-legal career paths for students.

This roundtable is delivered in conjunction with the Creating Commercial Lawyers Project (Nottingham Law School and Ulster University), kindly funded by the Legal Education Foundation.
