Confidence Skills for a Successful Career in Business and Law

In the professional worlds of legal and business services, having knowledge and expertise isn’t enough.  In order to assure others, legal professionals need to act with confidence themselves. Having impact and developing effective relationships in a work environment relies on great communication skills.

This half-day workshop will explore self-assurance and presence in professional life and will help you to develop your own personal approach to acting with confidence. It will include:

  • Feeling confident and overcoming reticence
  • Acting with confidence
  • Developing a strong professional persona
  • The importance of stature and status
  • Developing presence and gravitas
  • Finding your unique professional voice
  • Effective communication and relationship building

This will be an experiential session, with an opportunity to practice skills.

Facilitator

This workshop is facilitated by Sam Chittenden, Different Development. 

Sam is a leadership coach and trainer, with a background including many years as a Board Director in the public sector. She is also an actor and director, and uses these skills to help people to perform their roles effectively and communicate with skill and ease. Sam runs the training company Different Development, based in Brighton, and leads The Mastery of Self Expression Workshops in Brighton.

This workshop is open to CCLS postgraduate students only.

Attendance is free of charge but prior registration is required via Eventbrite.
