We are frequently asked by large and small law firms whether we have students with knowledge and interest in international arbitration who might be appropriate to join their firm or dedicated arbitration practice groups. Not surprisingly, many of our students ask if we can help with placements with and introductions to law firms with international arbitration practices so they can put in to practice what they have learnt on our courses. With this in mind, we are holding an introductory drinks evening for our students and law firms who may be interested to meet with our students. This is not meant to be a "jobs fair" but rather an opportunity for the students to meet with lawyers practicing in the international arbitration arena and learn more about the law firms, and for the law firms to become acquainted with our students.
Annually over one hundred students attend on our London based courses, especially international comparative commercial arbitration, investment arbitration and international construction arbitration. These students are drawn from all around the world (this year from 25 countries), many are already qualified lawyers in their countries of origin and of a high intellect and ability. Over 3000 students have attended the School since its inception in 1985, and many are now working in the international arbitration arena in law firms, with arbitration institutions, in government service and as professors and teachers.
This event is intended for Queen Mary arbitration students only and attendance is strictly by invitation.
