Incentives or Sanctions: What is the Most Effective Way to Create a Better Culture in Financial Services?

The Institute for Regulation and Ethics at CCLS and St Paul’s Institute have organised a joint event in order to explore the balance between incentives and sanctions in creating good culture in financial services firms, looking at examples from outside of the financial services sector. The event is intended to be a first step in a possible programme of work which will investigate and assess the efficacy of the current regulatory and professional initiatives to improve culture in the sector.

The event will be held under Chatham House rule. There will be an occasion to continue the discussion over drinks afterwards.

Programme

The outline of the programme includes:

  1. Welcome and Opening Remarks
  2. Panel of Perspectives from other Industries
  3. Perspectives from the Financial Services Industries
  4. Closing Remarks and Drinks Reception

Speakers

Speakers include senior regulators and members of the judiciary, representatives from consultancies and professional bodies, and risk management officers.
