Legal Theory Masterclass with Distinguished Visiting Fellow, Professor Brian Tamanaha

Professor Brian Tamanaha (Washington University Law School), 2015 Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Queen Mary, will be giving a special Masterclass in Legal Theory for LLM and PhD students in the School of Law, Queen Mary University of London. The paper for discussion, which will be circulated to all who register, is ‘What is Law?’, and is a chapter in a book that Professor Tamanaha is currently completing (entitled A Social Theory of Law). In addition to this event, during his visit he will give the Inaugural Cotterrell Lecture in Sociological Jurisprudence (28 May) and a half-day workshop on Relating Analytic, Empirical, Evolutionary, Diachronic and Comparative Methods in Constructing Concepts of Law (10 June).
