qLegal Workshop: Be Forearmed - A Cyber Crime 101 for Startups

7 December 2016

Time: 6:00 - 8:00pm
Venue: AirSpace, 29-31 Oxford St, Soho, London W1D 2DR

This workshop is delivered by qLegal and hosted by AirSpace.

How will cybercrime impact your business?

With the advent of technology-enabled processes designed to make life easier, cybercrime has risen rapidly. Traditional crimes such as theft and fraud have now evolved into cyber-enabled crimes; crimes that use information communications technology to further the scope and scale of traditional crimes. Cybercrime is, thus, far-reaching. How can you guard your start-up from cyber crime? Find out as we explore answers to questions like:

  • What is cybercrime and how does it differ from ‘traditional’ criminal activity?
  • What is the actual cost of cybercrime globally? And should start-ups be concerned about cybercrime?
  • What practical steps can start-ups take to protect themselves?

We will also discuss real examples/case studies of cybercrime, the legal framework governing cybercrime activities and consider the future and reform of cybercrime law.
