Guest Lecture

Simon Gleeson, partner at Clifford Chance, lectured about deposit insurance and bank resolution. He discussed the rationale for deposit protection in the light of the critical payment function that banks provide and explained the bank resolution tools that have been adopted in recent years to move 'from bail out to bail in'. He explained recent regulatory and legislative developments in this field drawing upon a comparative analysis, with emphasis on the distinction between single point of entry and multiple point of entry.
