CCLS at the Supreme Court

On 27 January 2010, the new Supreme Court of the United Kingdom delivered one of its most important judgments so far. In A v HM Treasury [2010] UKSC 2 the Court held that the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2006 and the Al-Qaida and Taliban (United Nations Measures) Order 2006 were unlawful on the ground that they did not give the affected persons an effective remedy against their designation by the United Nations Sanctions Committee as suspected terrorists.

The judgment relies on and cites with approval various writings of Professor Takis Tridimas.
