Dr Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal to speak at UN: Expert Group Meeting on Sovereign Debt Restructuring

Dr Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal is to speak at the Expert Group Meeting on Sovereign Debt Restructuring, which aims to explore concrete, practical steps to improve the framework for the timely and orderly restructuring of sovereign debt. 

The meeting, which will be held on 19 September, has been convened by The Financing for Development Office of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (FfDO/UNDESA), The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Dr Rodrigo Olivares-Caminal, Lecturer in Banking and Finance at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) at Queen Mary, is a discussant on 'New Financing: Roles of the official and private sectors'. Lee Bucheit, Visiting Professor at CCLS and Partner, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, New York, will also attend the meeting and will present on 'Ex-ante frameworks for creditor committees – can they enhance creditor coordination?'.
