Dr Maksymilian Del Mar awarded prestigious fellowship

Published:

Dr Del Mar is a senior lecturer in Law and Philosophy and Director of the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context at Queen Mary. He has been selected as an Academic Fellow of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.

The Inner Temple’s Academic Fellows Scheme, which was launched in 2009, aims to recognise the outstanding contribution of legal teaching and research of early to mid-career academics. It also aims to support their research and to build a stronger relationship between the Bar, judiciary and legal academia.

Dr Del Mar said: "I’m delighted and honoured by this appointment. It is a fantastic opportunity to further develop links, in both research and teaching, between Queen Mary's Department of Law and the Inner Temple. One of the particular areas I hope to contribute to is the vital project of increasing accessibility to, and at once diversity of, our law degrees as well as membership of the Bar."

"With its commitment to the local community, and especially its most vulnerable and disadvantaged members, Queen Mary is an ideal partner for the Inner Temple's dedication (for instance, via their pioneering Schools Project and more recently the Pegasus Access Scheme) to making the profession of barristers open to able candidates of any background."

More information about the Schools Project and Pegasus Access Scheme is available on the web site for the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple
