On 13 November 2013, Professor Eric Heinze delivered a guest lecture at the University of Surrey, entitled 'Citizenship unmodified: Democracy and the problem of hatred'. The talk examined the limits that are often placed on freedom of expression when speech is determined to be hateful or offensive.
