Internship opportunity and CCLS bursary for LLM In Insurance Law student with Edwards Wildman 2014-15

Published:

Edwards Wildman, a leading International law firm with 16 offices in US, Europe and Asia is offering one two-week summer internship for an exceptional student wishing to study the LLM in Insurance Law in the academic year 2014/15. The recipient of the internship will also be awarded a bursary of £2,500 by the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS).

David Kendall, Partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance Department in Edwards Wildman's London Office said about the internship programme with Queen Mary:

"As an international firm, Edwards Wildman is keen to support internship schemes of this nature where we collaborate with a successful law school like QMUL. We live in a ‘shrinking world’ and the commercial impact of this is increasingly important to a business like ours. Our work constantly takes us across borders and we devote a lot of time and effort to developing good working relations with our overseas counterparts, be they clients or fellow lawyers. Having a QMUL LLM intern in the office, who will have a good understanding of the effect of the global market on the financial services industry, can really help us to evaluate the legal issues facing the market and communicate more effectively in it. The interns will often be able to reference contacts that will be useful to us in the future and in return we can offer them the opportunity to gain knowledge and practical application in their chosen field. In addition, they have the opportunity to develop their own network of professional relationships."
