Professor Lizzie Barmes speaks at a conference on Gender Rules: Research methods in law

Lizzie Barmes, Professor of Labour Law at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), spoke at a conference on 'Gender Rules: Research methods in law' [PDF 3,045KB] on 20 June in Cardiff, Wales. She spoke on 'The qualitative analysis of judgments'.
This conference considered how expressions of gender in law can be explored through attention to legal rules; whether grounded in statute or common law. Presentations in the morning session addressed a range of methodological questions for academic lawyers. The afternoon session showcased examples of contemporary, cutting-edge research from leading UK scholars exploring issues of equality and gender in law.
