Frances Ridout, Deputy Director of the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre (LAC), tells Regulation Matters a little more about how pro bono can unite law students and lawyers with the common purpose of helping members of the public: “We deliver free advice to members of the public during term time, from law students who act under the supervision of lawyers and barristers. We are about bringing together the local community who need advice, students looking for their first experience working with clients and lawyers who want to do pro bono work. As a centre we cover quite a few areas such as landlord and tenant matters, consumer matters and employment.
