Professor Geraldine Van Bueren pens 'Religion and human rights are a double lock on dignity' for The Times

Professor Geraldine Van Bueren writes an opinion piece for The Times on human rights, arguing that “from the medieval era onwards religion and human rights have reinforced each other.” She concludes: “To argue that religion and human rights cannot coexist ignores the potential of working together to enhance the dignity of all and to improve the lives of the vulnerable. Looking at the contributions of the religious to the protection of human rights ought to act as a light illuminating the way to future co-operation.” Read the full article (subcription required).
