Professor Shazia Choudhry's research with Women's Aid featured in The Times

The Times featured recent research by Queen Mary and Women’s Aid in an article that calls to stop abusers cross-examining partners in family courts. The research found that 24 per cent of victims surveyed reported that they had been cross-examined by their abusive ex-partner during child contact hearings in the family courts. The research revealed that the practice has a traumatic effect on victims, diminishing their ability to give evidence and preventing them from speaking up for their child’s best interests and safety. Read the full article
