Certificates
The Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) at the School of Law offers three postgraduate certificate programmes.
The Certificate in Intellectual Property Law
The Certificate in IP Law is designed for trainee patent attorneys. This one-semester (13 week) course offers the same compulsory subjects as the MSc Management of Intellectual Property programme although there is greater concentration on many of the practical aspects of patents, designs and trade marks and greater involvement of patent practitioners to complement the academic treatment of the subject.
The Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice
The Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice is a requirement if you want to qualify as Trade Mark Attorneys but it is also open to students who want to get a good understanding of national, European, and international trade mark law at an advanced level. The Certificate in Trade Mark Law & Practice programme has been specifically designed in close co-operation with the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA) for the trainee agent.
The Certificate in Computer and Communications Law (by Distance Learning)
The Certificate in Computer and Communications Law (Distance Learning) online course draws on Queen Mary's established teaching and research expertise in IT law, e-commerce law, communications law, computer law and media law. The programme is tailored for students who want to gain a specialist Certificate in Digital Media Law, Certificate in IT or IP Law, Certificate in E-commerce Law or a Certificate in Communications Law.
