QLLM379 Energy Law: Renewable and Nuclear (Sem 2)

Module description

This module will cover all of the policy and legal aspects of the renewable and nuclear energy options. It will consider the type of renewable energy sources, which includes two major classifications: solar and wind.

Low-carbon energy (renewable and nuclear energy) contains geographical policy considerations as part of the GHG crisis. The module will explore the historical, policy and legal background of clean energy development. It will discuss the different political, environmental and economic reasons that motivated different regions to create legislative frameworks supporting the uptake of low-carbon energy development. This will be illustrated with case studies, which will include China, Denmark, Germany, the Middle East and the US (California).
