QLLM437 Law of Economic Crime 2 (Sem 2)

Module description

The module will deal with general issues in the prosecution of economic crimes and with criminal and regulatory justice more broadly. Substantively, it will treat Civil Recovery, Forfeiture and Cash Seizure, sport and financial crime, tax evasion and bribery and corruption. The section of the course on bribery will deal with the history, culture, economics and politics of bribery, the (US) Foreign Corrupt Practises Act, the (UK) Bribery Act 2010, international aspects of the regime (OECD Convention, UNCAC) and political influence and whistleblowing.

In any given year the precise subjects to be studied will vary according to the provenance of the members of the class and other factors.
