Law Library
Law students at Queen Mary, University of London have access to excellent information resources to help with their studies.
The Library has vast holdings of British publications and also materials from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United States, continental Europe and other parts of the world.
Since 1973 the Library has been recognised as a European Documentation Centre by the Commission of the European Union and receives most of the official publications of the EU.
Students will find everything they need for their studies and much other interesting reading. The Library has WiFi access throughout and facilities for private and group study, including bookable and fully equipped study rooms. A dedicated room for postgraduate research students is also available.
Online legal resources
In addition, students have access to an impressive number of online legal resources both on and off campus. These include:
- LexisLibrary
- Westlaw
- HeinOnline and many electronic journals
Several major case report series, such as The Law Reports, Weekly Law Reports and All England Law Reports are also available full text electronically.
Skills and training sessions
Information skills lectures and one-to-one training sessions help students make maximum use of the resources available. Specialist staff are also available to answer student’s enquiries.
Other collections
In addition to the Queen Mary Library, The Centre for Commercial Law Studies has a specialist Intellectual Property Archive, which is available to academics and doctoral students researching in the area of intellectual property law.
Students also have access to the extensive collections of the University of London, Senate House Library, and the libraries of the other Colleges of the University of London. This includes a special arrangement that students enjoy with The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Library which is one of the three major law libraries in the United Kingdom. As well as it’s vast collection, in print and electronic format, the Institute produces numerous useful research guides.
