QLLM025 E-Commerce Law
Module Description
The aim of this module is to critically and comprehensively analyse the legal issues pertaining to e-commerce and is addressed to lawyers wishing to act for and advise e-businesses (and other information society service providers), whether in private practice or as in-house counsel. The module takes a practical, transactional and multi-jurisdictional perspective. However, this perspective does not deduct from the academic rigour of this module. The aim is to provide an in-depth analysis and examination of the adequacy of the legal framework to cope with the practical issues raised by e-commerce. In particular, this module will examine where there are gaps, conflicts and compliance issues within the current and developing legal framework on e-commerce and to what extent the existing legal framework impacts on new and emerging technologies.
