About the Criminal Justice Centre

The Criminal Justice Centre (CJC) was formed in May 2008.

CJC Objectives

The principal objective of the Criminal Justice Centre is to serve as the hub for research and teaching collaboration between the numerous experts in criminal justice working in the School of Law at Queen Mary, University of London.

The other objectives of the CJC are to:

  • Optimise interdisciplinary research with other scholars at Queen Mary with interests in criminal justice related fields;
  • Enhance opportunities for research funding;
  • Host conferences/seminars and other public events;
  • Increase collaboration of members and the student body at QM with external agencies including the legal profession;
  • Maximise the research opportunities for postgraduate students;
  • Serve as a conduit for the submission of responses to Law reform proposals;
  • Foster the existing links and forge new ones with stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System (including the judiciary and the legal profession).
