Biography:
Georgina Tsagas commenced her PhD in October 2009, after having been awarded a Full Scholarship for 2009-2012 by the School of Law, Queen Mary University of London. Georgina began her professional legal training in Thessaloniki after having obtained her Law Degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2006. In 2008 she was awarded her LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law with Distinction at the School of Law, Queen Mary University of London, having achieved 3rd place out of 370 students in her year. Georgina is dually qualified, having qualified as a lawyer in Greece in 2009 (Thessaloniki Bar Association) and as a Solicitor of England & Wales in 2012.
Parallel to her PhD studies Georgina has lectured as a Teaching Fellow on the LLB Company Law Tutorials in Term 1 2011-2012, as a Guest lecturer on the LLM Company Law and Corporate Governance modules in Term 1 2011-2012 and as a Tutor of Legal Writing on the LLB module on ‘Principles of Common Law and Statutory Interpretation’ in Term 1 2010-2011. Amidst her doctoral research, she has also been employed as a research assistant at the School of Law, having worked on the update of the new edition of ‘Cases & Materials on Company Law’ A. Hicks & S.H. Goo (Oxford University Press, Oxford 2011 7th Ed.) in 2010 and on a comparative research project focusing on corporate law and corporate governance reform in the Middle East.
