Profile

Nick Bernard graduated in law from the Université Paris-XI and the University of Kent at Canterbury. After his Masters in International Trade Law from Paris-I Panthéon-Sorbonne, he took up posts at the University of Essex and at Queen's University Belfast. He joined Queen Mary in 2003 as Senior Lecturer.

Research

Mr Bernard's research interests are in the field of European Union law, especially EU governance and internal market regulation. In addition to his book on Multilevel Governance in the European Union, Mr Bernard has written widely on various aspects of European Union law, such as the European internal market, EU air transport regulation, EU welfare law, EU discrimination law, subsidiarity and citizenship in the EU.
