The School of Law hosts the office of the Selden Society. This is the learned society, founded under royal patronage 1887 which is devoted to researching and publishing the original materials of the history of English law, legal institutions and profession: early law reports, courts’ records, judges’ notebooks, legal treatises, etc, going back to the middle ages. It has published some 150 volumes to date. These are subscribed for by lawyers, historians and university libraries all over the world.
