LAW6055 The Law of Unjust Enrichment

Note: Restricted to final year LLB students (M100 and M120 programmes).

Description

The option will allow students to obtain an understanding of the law of unjust enrichment. This is a vital subject for those wishing to practice law, particularly civil litigation. The module will allow them to understand the theoretical bases of unjust enrichment law. It will allow students to identify those instances where the law will require restitution to be made for an unjust enrichment. Students will also be able to recognise and apply the general defences to a restitutionary claim and the principal bars to a restitutionary claim.
