Norton Rose Fulbright LLP and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) are pleased to offer a full tuition fee only scholarship (one) for the September 2020 intake for students wishing to follow the LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law Programme.

Who is eligible to apply for these scholarships?

Students holding an offer for the LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law programme (either conditional or unconditional, home/EU or overseas) for full-time study may apply for this scholarship online- see details on how to apply below.

Programme Application Deadline

You MUST apply for full-time the LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law in London before applying for a scholarship – your application ID number is a requirement.  

Any student who has applied for this specific LLM Programme by 30 March 2020 and has not received an LLM offer of study by 27 April 2020 should contact llmscholarships@qmul.ac.uk (not the admissions team) and quote the date of application and their application number in order for us to look into this.

Scholarship Application Deadline

The deadline for submission of this scholarship application is 1 June 2020 by 23:59 hrs GMT - students must have an offer of study (either conditional or unconditional) for an eligible programme listed above before applying for funding.

What does the scholarship cover? How are they paid?

For the successful candidates, his/her tuition fees payable to Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) - the equivalent of £15,950 for a Home/EU student or £23,950 for a non-Home/EU student - will be covered entirely by the scholarship in the form of a fee waiver. Please note the scholarship does not cover any additional living costs or flights etc.

In addition to receiving a scholarship, each successful applicant will also be awarded a two week international internship at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP.  Additional travel and living costs up to £1750 incurred as a result of taking up this internship will be reimbursed, and any necessary work visas will be arranged on the applicant’s behalf by Norton Rose Fulbright.

What are scholarship winners required to do?

The successful candidate may be asked to assist with QMUL marketing events such as postgraduate open evenings and/or web/video student profiles; as well as supporting CCLS and Norton Rose Fulbright LLP in promoting the scholarship (e.g. through interviews, photos and presence at events).

Please note School scholarships are also subject to university-wide Terms and Conditions as well as any course/School/Faculty conditions or criteria outline.

How to apply for the LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law Scholarships

Once again we remind you that MUST apply for the LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law in London before applying for a scholarship – your application ID number is a requirement.  

The online application form for this scholarship must be completed and submitted with relevant documentation (detailed below) by 1 June 2020 23:59 GMT.

In order to apply for this scholarship please complete and sign the online application form, and attach the following documents (as one PDF document):

  • A copy of your CV
    • 'Please state the reasons why you are applying for this LLM, why you are interested in energy and natural resources and why you feel we should award you this scholarship’
  • A 500 (max) word max response to the following:
  • A full transcript of your grades: Undergraduate/Bachelors level/first degree level and Postgraduate/Masters (if applicable)

Submitting your application online

You will need to complete an online application form for this scholarship and submit ALL required documents by following a link at the bottom of this webpage – but before you do it is crucial that you read the information below first!

Please ensure you accurately complete ALL relevant sections when required and that you submit the necessary documents in ONE PDF document when prompted. Save this file under your full name. Please DO NOT submit individual documents as part of your application. Your supporting documents must be clear and eligible to read. We will not accept JPEG formats or any other image formats. All supporting documents must be in PDF format.

The final section of the online application form will detail how to upload your ONE COMBINED PDF document as part of your scholarship application. You must read all instructions very carefully before uploading your supporting document.

Incomplete, incorrect or late scholarship applications will not be accepted or processed.

Confirmation of your online application

Upon submission of your scholarship application you will be re-directed to a page which will state ‘Your response has been recorded’. This message is confirmation that we have received your application. You will NOT receive an additional email to confirm this. Therefore please do not contact us to request further confirmation.

All applications will be reviewed by a Panel of representatives from CCLS and Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a Skype or telephone interview (dates and times to be confirmed).

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application approximately by mid-July 2020.
