The good, the bad and the ugly terms of Cloud Computing

A survey of 31 Cloud computing contracts from 27 different providers has found that many include clauses that could have a significant impact, often negative, on the rights and interests of customers. The session formed part of the activities of the Task Force on the Future of Eurojust, whose purpose is to reflect on the future development of Eurojust under the Lisbon Treaty and the establishment of a European Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Eurojust is a judicial cooperation body created to help provide safety within an area of freedom, security and justice.

CCLS at the Supreme Court
1 February 2010

On 27 January 2010, the new Supreme Court of the United Kingdom delivered one of its most important judgments so far. In A v HM Treasury [2010] UKSC 2 the Court held that the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2006 and the Al-Qaida and Taliban (United Nations Measures) Order 2006 were unlawful on the ground that they did not give the affected persons an effective remedy against their designation by the United Nations Sanctions Committee as suspected terrorists.
