Professor Rosa Lastra to speak on 'Systemic Risk' at the MOCOMILA meeting on 29 April 2011

The theme of the public session of the Committee on International Monetary Law of the International Law Association (MOCOMILA) meeting in New York on Friday 29 April will be ‘Regulatory Reform: Developments in the EU and the US. The session is organized by Thomas Baxter, General Counsel of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and David Gross. There will be three sessions directed at three broad topical areas each with two speakers.

Professor Lastra will discuss Systemic Risk from an EU perspective while Ernest Patrikis will consider the US perspective. The other topics and speakers include: Bank Activities: Rene Smits and James Bergin; Financial Institution Insolvency: Eva Hüpkes and Joyce Hansen. Rosa Lastra is Professor of International Financial and Monetary Law at Queen Mary, University of London and a member of MOCOMILA. Her inaugural lecture on ‘The Quest for International Financial Regulation’ is on 23 March 2011.
